I’ve tried making the perfect chocolate fondant a few times and used lots of different methods. The outside should be firm with hot, runny and molten chocolate centre. This recipe has let me get them perfect every time but make sure you’re careful when taking them out of the ramekins!
How to make them
Chocolate Fondant
- Prep Time: 15 mins / Cooking Time: 20 mins
- Persons: 2
- Ingredients
- 67g dark chocolate at least 70%
- 50g butter plus extra for greasing
- 2 eggs
- 55g sugar
- 42g plain flour
- Icing sugar for dusting
- Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 180degrees / gas mark 4
- Lightly butter 2 ramekins and dust with a light layer of sugar
- Melt the chocolate with the butter in the microwave
- Beat the sugar and eggs together until light and fluffy
- Fold in the flour and add in the chocolate and butter mix
- Pour into the ramekins and put into the oven for 8-12 mins
- The fondants will be ready when they have risen slightly and are spongy to the touch but you can always check by pushing a skewer down the side of the ramekin, the skewer should stay dry
- Serve immediately with a dusting of icing sugar and some ice cream
